A Case Study in Excellence
We’ve all been there before – we’re on the phone and we want a real person, but we end up with a keyboard response or a computer-generated voice. At DCM Roofing, that’s not how we roll. You’ll get a real person on the end of the line, you’ll also get a real person turning up to assess the job, you’ll receive a no-surprises quote (because we’ve been onsite and seen the job!), and the roof itself will be completed to the highest of standards and on time.
However, don’t just take our word for it. Hear what Scott from Bishopdale has to say about why he rates DCM Roofing.
Butynol in Bishopdale
It’s an attractive two-storey home in Bishopdale. However, at its highest peak is a flat area of roofing, home to a range of roof furniture and intrusions. There’s an access hatch and cover, a timber plinth for the heat pump’s outdoor unit, a PVC entry duct for heat pump plumbing and a freestanding wind vane. Factor in a duct entry for TV cables, another plumbing vent and a TV antenna, and suddenly this 6.4m x 4.2m section of roofing is looking busy!
Dating back to the 1990’s, the membrane surface was still watertight. However, it shed and marked easily. When property owner, Scott, decided to replace the Butynol membrane, he says his decision to work with DCM Roofing was a no-brainer.
Having approached three roofing companies for quotes, DCM Roofing were the only professionals to assess the job onsite. While the others provided site-unseen quotes, Scott was impressed when owner, Iain McPhail, ‘actually turned up’. Using contemporary technology and drone footage, Iain was able to accurately capture the state of the roof and provide a quote based on the real state of affairs.
However, for Scott, it got even better. DCM Roofing’s onsite assessment not only offered the most accurate costings, but Scott was happily surprised when ‘it came in at the best price.’
The job was completed in a timely manner and today Scott is delighted with the quality of work. ‘What’s not to like about DCM?’ he queries, adding, ‘They’re practised, they’re not first-timers and they do a great job.’
What is Butynol?
Butynol is the registered trade name for a synthetic rubber membrane that has been in use for roofing for over fifty years. With properties that resist ageing from heat, sunlight, and ozone, it has excellent gas impermeability, plus it is tough, remaining flexible at low temperatures. Able to conform to the shape of virtually any roofing profile, you’ll find Butynol membranes in a wide variety of roofing situations, including flat roofs.
However, it’s not the only rubber membrane on the market and DCM Roofing is proudly certified to install Epiclad and dekMASTER, as well as Butynol, giving our clients options on the best cladding or membrane for the job.
