Maintenance is the key!

The last couple of weeks of horrendous weather bombs have certainly highlighted the importance of ensuring our homes are well-maintained. We’ve had a deluge of calls from new customers needing to re-roof their homes due to leaking.

What do your neighbours’ roofs look like? Are the tiles coming off? Are you seeing steel roofs going up? If so, it’s highly likely that if you haven’t replaced your roof since forever, then it will be deteriorating. If your house is built pre-1980s, any steel up there will be coming to the end of its life. If your home is built pre-1960s – that’s around 70 years ago – any concrete tiles, unless you’ve cared for them with a re-paint every five years, will likely be seriously worse for wear.

It’s a bit like car tyres, I reckon. If you keep on top of changing them every 50 thousand kilometres, you’re going to have a great running car that keeps you safe. If not, you may be faced with a knee-jerk bill for four new tyres when it comes to the time of the WOF. And that’s never nice on the pocket.

And here’s the thing about re-roofing: it enhances your property no end. If you want to sell, you’ll easily get your money back. If you’re going to stay, then you’ll have peace of mind that your shelter is solid and weather-tight, no matter what the weather gods throw at us.

The time really is now. The reason I say that is because you’ve probably heard that there have been supply chain issues with lots of tradies as a result of COVID. At the moment, we’ve got things in hand, and we’ve been working hard with our suppliers to make sure that supply chain issues are sorted, but we don’t want to see people miss out, and we know from past experience, we just can’t predict what’s around the corner.

Give us a call to talk through the options for maintaining a roof that will keep you dry and will look great for many years to come.
