Keep calm and carry on

It’s a bit chaotic in the building industry at the moment. The main problem is that materials are in short supply. The whole of New Zealand is in a boom time. Everyone wants everything yesterday. And since the COVID lockdowns easing, everyone’s running around with a hiss and a roar! While this isn’t anything new for Christchurch, which has been in a boom since the earthquakes, but now the whole country is really starting to hum.

My suppliers are ordering massive amounts of stock, but only a fraction is being delivered. What’s coming out of the steel mill is not fulfilling the stock. You may need a dozen eggs to make your omelette, but someone’s missing out and isn’t getting the omelette.

So what are we doing about it? Why go with us?

We are inundated with work. But that doesn’t mean we don’t care. We aren’t ones for missing opportunities. We’ve got our ears to the ground, and we have good relationships with our suppliers, so we know where the stock is, and we are doing our best to source it.

But what you do need to know is that you may not get the colour you want if you leave it too late for booking your re-roofing. If you’re in a hurry, you may have to settle for one of the standard 17 Colorsteel colours. If you’re after a bespoke colour, be prepared to wait.

And waiting is not something I would recommend. We’ve already seen prices go up twice this year, and it’s only a matter of time before they climb again. I don’t want to be doom and gloom about this, but I would like to help you get the best deal possible for your roof.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Life will continue. Let’s all keep calm. It may be stressful right now, but we do want our customers to be well and enjoy their new roof. We’re also doing our best to make sure our staff are feeling well, too. That’s why we’re working with a wellbeing coach to support our people.

Give us a call to talk through your options for a re-roof that will keep your home dry and will look great for many years to come. And you can relax knowing you’ve got your re-roofing sorted.
